Sun's Out, Planning's Easier: Solar Power Just Got More Accessible!

Have you been dreaming of switching to solar power but worried about the hassle of getting approval? Well, good news! The government's new planning rules, introduced in November 2023, are making installing solar panels on your home easier than ever!

Gone are the days of lengthy applications and red tape. These new rules allow for:

    • Flat roof installations without planning permission: Just like businesses, homeowners can now install solar panels without the hassle of planning applications.
    • No permission needed for up to 1MW on businesses: Businesses can now ditch the planning process for solar installations up to 1 megawatt, opening doors for larger-scale renewable energy adoption.
    • Emphasis on using existing developed land: Solar panels can now be installed on car park canopies and other developed areas, maximizing space utilization.

These changes are a game-changer for anyone considering solar power. Not only can you potentially skip the planning process, but you might also be able to install more panels, leading to greater energy savings and reduced reliance on the grid.

Thinking about going solar? Don't wait! These new rules are a fantastic opportunity to make your dream a reality. But remember, choosing the right company is crucial.
